1 year to go….

If you are lucky enough to have a year to start getting yourself wedding day beautiful, you are in great shape.

  • This would be a good time to work on getting skin conditions under control such as acne or rosacea, which can take time.  It is also the right time to start treatments for acne scarring, such as the Fraxel or Microneedling, these can be done once per month and require 3-5 sessions depending on your goals.
  • Start a skin care regimen to beautify your skin and prevent flares leading up to the special day, and including sunscreen in you morning routine is a must.  If you are looking to improve the submental area or “double chin,” treatments with the Coolmini and Kybella are best started now.
  • The same goes for skin tightening, if you have loose skin around the eyes, cheeks, and neck an Ultherapy or Thermismooth treatment can help make dramatic improvement, but will require a 6 month period to see the full effect.
  • Having Botox injections every 3 months will help with stubborn eleven lines, and it is good to start Botox in advance so you become accustomed to what works best for you, it is not a good idea to do this for the first time 2 weeks before your big day.

  • You still have time to get acne or rosacea under control, so make sure to see a dermatologist if you need to. Acne scarring can still be treated, 3-4 sessions can still be done before the big day.
  • A tightening procedure such as the Ulthera is still possible and will show great results by the big day. Submental fat treatments can also still be done (Coolmini or Kybella), and enough time exists to do 2 -3 sessions if needed. If you need a second Ulthera session to get even more tightening you can do that at this time.
  • If you haven’t started a skincare regimen get started now. Monthly chemical peels leading up to the wedding can help even out discoloration and help reduce fine lines and create a beautiful glow to your skin.
  • For volume loss a filler such as Restylane, Juvederm or Radiese at this time can definitely be started and will still be present for the Wedding Day. Fillers can help rejuvenate your look by re-contouring the face for a more youthful appearance, and will look completely natural if done right.

3 months…

  • Don’t panic, if you still haven’t gotten your acne or rosacea under control or haven’t seen a specialist by now, you still have some time! Make sure to get in with your dermatologist for the best treatment plan.
  • Monthly chemical peels can also be started at this point to get rid of any skin dullness, and will help get you that wedding day glow.
  • One final treatment can be done at this time of either Ulthera for tightening, or Coolmini or Kybella for submental fat, you will still see results by the wedding day. Microneedling or Fraxel can still be done again, and up to the 2nd to last month before the big day.
  • Fillers can be done up until 3 weeks before the wedding, having this done too close to the date will risk leaving a bruise.

  • To maintain a clear complexion and reduce the risk of a breakout on the day of your wedding ask your dermatologist for the best plan. If you are prone to have acne flares, see your dermatologist a month before the wedding to come up with a plan, and arrange for an appointment 2 days before the big day for any last minute pimple emergencies.
  • Botox can be done up to 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.
  • A chemical peel can be done at the beginning of the month.
  • Fillers can be done to get last minute volume in, but no sooner than 2-3 weeks before the wedding to prevent risk for bruising.

No matter what stage you find yourself in your wedding day count down when you read this, you still have time to beautify yourself to your best skin for your memorable wedding day.

Hope this helps!
